So it’s been a while……but anyway, back to business and welcome to a special 2014 edition of Screen Time which rather than looking at what I have watched since my last update (almost three months ago now – I know, I know), I thought it might be interesting to have a look at some of my viewing stats from the past year. Ok, so this review is going to be a little bit different, so please bear with me. Some of my most memorable movie going experiences have involved going into a screening with no prior knowledge of the film and then being cinematically slapped in the face by what is on the screen. To me, this is story telling in its purist form. However, these days due to the 24 news cycle, Twitter, Facebook and let’s face it blogs like this one, this is increasingly unlikely.
Luckily, I recently managed to create this experience with the new Australian film Predestination, and if you are willing, I am going to try to recreate it for you. It is quite possible I am too late, as you may have already seen reviews online, be across some of the plot points and/or have some prior knowledge of cast members. But if you haven’t, are intrigued by this premise and you are up for a touch of cinematic adventure in the blind, then I would strongly encourage you to purposely avoid finding out any details in advance about Predestination and simply take a leap into the unknown.
